The Jeannette team met aggressive time constraints, produced a thorough set of construction documents, were always quick to provide clarification and answers to our questions and were great resources for product and material options and information. As capable as Jeff (Jeannette) is with his design sense, we believe that it's his ability to listen to his clients, understand client goals, how we will live in the space and how that fits into our budget is what sets Jeff apart from other architects. The task: incorporate warm contemporary design into our 1970's "woody cabin." As a real estate developer and because it's our third major house remodel there were many design elements we knew we wanted but many more that we needed help with. It's also nice because I can just put water in the very bottom and sit on the seat and soak my feet if they are sore.“My wife and I hired Jeannette Architects to assist us with a major remodel (interior/exterior) of our 3,500 sq. My tub, thanks to the smaller size and the seat, takes much less water to fill so it's much more practical. If you have a gas water heater, you wouldn't have enough hot water to fill them (like my old tub). I will agree the free standing tubs are often HUGE and would take 30 minutes to fill and are much bigger than a person needs. But since the builders made the window just under 60", it eliminated too many tubs and nothing available "fit" or looked nice for the space I had to work with without knocking holes in the exterior of my home or getting new windows (which was not in budget). Would I have been happy finding an alcove tub that looked nice and had fit into the space I had to avoid the dirty catch space? Sure. If we'd had a tub/shower combo for a master, I would also have just converted it to a nicer, full shower. We do have a good sized shower now (to the left of the vanity in the last photo) that used to be a tiny shower before that gets used a lot more. For resale value and because I do like an occasional soak, I didn't want to ditch the tub. In the overall scheme of cleaning things, not too bad. But I have a vacuum with a hose attachment that makes it easy to do a quick clean weekly and then once a month take a swiffer to the area. Talbot It does trap dust and dirt, especially with my plants there.
